What Is QHHT? A Madison, WI Practitioner's Guide to Quantum Healing Hypnosis
Most of the people who find their way to my office in Madison have already done a lot of work on themselves. They've tried therapy, meditation, journaling, energy work, maybe all of it. And they've made real progress in some areas, but there's something that just won't move. A pattern that keeps repeating, a feeling that doesn't have a name, a stuck point that the rational mind can identify but can't seem to resolve on its own.
We don't know what we don't know until we know it. And oftentimes, our subconscious is what's driving everything for us — the patterns, the triggers, the reasons we keep bumping up against the same walls even when we understand, intellectually, what we're doing and why.
That's where QHHT comes in.
What Quantum Healing Hypnosis Actually Is
Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique is a method developed by Dolores Cannon through over decades of clinical hypnosis work. It's your opportunity to really connect with that subconscious — that higher self of yourself that knows everything about you. Not just what you've experienced in this current lifetime, but anything your consciousness has carried forward, including patterns and energies from past lifetimes that may still be influencing how you move through the world right now.
This is not stage hypnosis. It's not someone telling you what to do or putting ideas into your mind. I'm just the facilitator. My role is to hold the space, guide the process, and ask the deeper questions while your subconscious does the actual work.
What Dolores Cannon calls a somnambulistic state is something most people already know — that place between sleeping and waking where you're aware but deeply relaxed, where the analytical prefrontal cortex quiets down enough for something else to come through. That means that everybody can be hypnotized and placed in that trance state where we are able to access that subconscious higher self. We're just getting that analytical part out of the way so we can access what's underneath.
What a Session Looks Like
Plan on the whole day. A QHHT session in my Madison office typically runs at least four to five hours, and even longer as we do whatever it takes. This is by design so we're not rushing through anything, and honestly, most people don't give themselves that kind of uninterrupted time very often. So just showing up for that is already part of the process.
We start with an interview which typically takes about two hours of just talking through your life. Childhood, relationships, school, career, the places where you've felt stuck or challenged. This isn't for my benefit so much as it gives the subconscious the opportunity to start surfacing what it needs to work with. A lot of times people experience a lot of healing just through the interview process itself, because there are so many people out there who have never had somebody hold that sacred space for them to be heard fully.
After a short break, you'll refine the questions you want to ask your subconscious. There's nothing off-limits — anything you want to know about yourself, anything you've been wondering, struggling with, or curious about. The subconscious will only allow you to hear what you're ready to hear, so you can trust the process to give you what you actually need.
Then we move into the trance itself. You'll experience a deeply relaxed state where your subconscious can bring forward whatever needs to be seen — sometimes a past lifetime, sometimes something from this one, sometimes just a knowing or a feeling. I dovetail whatever comes through with the questions you brought in, and we go deep. We're all here to learn lessons, and sometimes the answers are buried under layers of old programming and patterns that the conscious mind has been circling around for years without being able to reach.
Why QHHT Isn't What You'd Expect from Traditional Therapy
I've been a licensed professional counselor for over twenty years, and I've watched people do extraordinary work in traditional therapy. But what I've come to understand through QHHT and through every other modality I offer — brainspotting, equine assisted psychotherapy, energy healing — is that they're all accessing the same thing. Everything I do is about accessing the subconscious that higher self that knows everything about you. That's where all the good news is and here is why:
We're all inherently wired to heal. We've always been reaching and grasping for something outside of us — and it's not really outside of us. It's in us. It's our higher self. QHHT just gives you a direct line to that part of yourself, the part that knows everything about you and has been waiting for you to ask.
And here's the thing most people don't expect: this work doesn't require years. Dolores Cannon used to say that no one ever has to come back. One session can shift something that weekly therapy hasn't been able to touch, because you're going straight to the source. It's definitely an accelerated opportunity for deeper healing. We don't have to dredge up everything that's ever happened to you. It is not necessary.
What Happens After
You'll leave with a recording of your QHHT session. I would say the most important thing is that you actually listen to that recording — because that is your light, your inner guidance shining through to you. Every time you listen to it, it's your opportunity to connect with that higher part of yourself that is offering you guidance, perspective and love at every step of your journey. I'm still listening to my session from 2016, and I still hear something new every time.
One thing I often remind clients about their QHHT sessions is that the recording really makes a difference when you put action toward what your inner guidance is telling you. You can hear the subconscious all you want, but if you don't put action toward it, nothing's going to change. Healing is not passive. It's an invitation to show up differently — and most people do.
If you've been doing the work and something still won't shift, QHHT may be the direct access point you haven't tried yet. Book a consultation to talk about whether this is the right fit for where you are right now.
